Lethbridge, Alberta - Tonight in Lethbridge, AB the Everett Silvertips break their eight game winning streak with a disappointing 4-2 loss against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. This is the only meeting between these two teams this season and the series is even, all time, at 1-1-1. Despite the loss Everett stands firmly in first place in the US Division with 26 points and a record of 13-5. Lethbridge holds their third place spot in the Central Division with a record of 8-7-0-2 and 18 points.
Both goals scored by Everett in tonight's game were unassisted shots. Zack Dailey tallied the Silvertips' first marker on the night late in the first period on a power play and also his first goal in his Western Hockey League career. Mark Kress scored on his shot early in the second, which puts him at two goals so far this season.
Leading the Lethbridge Hurricanes was Colton Yellow Horn. Yellow Horn had two goals, including the game winning goal. Also scoring for the Hurricanes were Dwight King and former Everett Silvertip Curtis Billsten. Billsten tallied the final, empty-netter for the Hurricanes.
In goal for another night was Leland Irving. Irving had 19 stops on 22 saves and his record now sits at 12-5. For Lethbridge, Kevin Opsahl made 18 saves on 20 shots and mirrors his team's record of 8-7-0-2. Everett was the only team to score on a power play, connecting on 1 of 3 chances while Lethbridge was scoreless on four. The Hurricanes out shot the Silvertips 23-20.
The Everett Silvertips take a couple nights off but are back in action on Tuesday November 8th, in Medicine Hat, AB where they will battle the Medicine Hat Tigers. The game begins at 6pm.
