REBELS EDGE BRONCOS – Brooks Maxwell scored the go-ahead goal with 2:30 to play in the third period, lifting the visiting Red Deer Rebels to a 3-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.
Haydn Fleury and Matt Bellerive also scored while Christian Stockl picked up an assist in his debut for the Rebels (4-5-0-1), who record their second straight victory to close out their East Division road trip. Patrik Bartosak stopped 29 of 31 shots he faced to claim the win.
Graham Black and Tanner LeSann scored for the Broncos (3-1-3-1), who drop their first decision in regulation play this season. Eetu Laurikainen made 29 saves in a losing cause for Swift Current.
PATS 3, WINTERHAWKS 2 O/T
Lane Scheidl scored his fourth goal of the season 4:28 into overtime to lead the Regina Pats to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Portland Winterhawks on Tuesday.
Trent Ouellette scored his fifth goal of the season and added an assist while Adam Rossignol also scored for the Pats (4-5-0-0), who were scoreless on seven power play chances but shut out Portland on five man advantage chances. Matt Hewitt made 34 saves to post the win.
Ty Rattie and Taylor Peters scored for the Winterhawks (4-3-1-0), who fall to 1-1-1 through three games of their East Division road trip. Brendan Burke made 21 saves to take the loss.
RAIDERS 4, HURRICANES 1
Mike Winther scored his first goal of the season and Anthony Bardaro picked up three assists to lead the visiting Prince Albert Raiders to a 4-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Tuesday.
Sawyer Lange, Riley Guenther and Mark McNeill also scored for the Raiders (7-0-0-1), who sweep their four-game Central Division road trip while stretching their overall win streak to seven games. Luke Siemens made 19 saves to claim his sixth win of the season.
Russell Maxwell scored the only goal for the Hurricanes (2-5-0-0), who led 1-0 after the opening period but allowed the next four goals en route to their third loss in a row. Ty Rimmer made 31 saves in the defeat.
