Navy Night Highlights Two-Game Weekend!Feb 19, 2014 - 08:36 PST
The Silvertips are on home ice for a pair of game this weekend, starting with our annual Navy Night festivities Friday night against the Seattle Thunderbirds and continuing Sunday afternoon with our Mirco Mueller bobblehead giveaway against the Portland Winterhawks. Both games will also feature a food drive to benefit the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank.
As the Silvertips take on the rival Thunderbirds Friday night at 7:35, we’re also proud to host our 2014 “Navy Night” to recognize the men & women of Naval Station Everett! Through the auction of commemorative “Navy Night” jerseys and the sale of special blue Navy Night pucks and t-shirts on the East concourse across from the Ice Box, we’re raising money that will help the Naval Recruiting District Seattle Petty Officer’s Association make an impact around the community and support sailors within their command in a variety of different ways (e.g. restoring a flooded baseball field, painting over graffiti or covering travel costs for sailors with family emergencies).
CLICK HERE for more information or to purchase tickets through our special link and $5 off every ticket purchased goes toward the fund. You’ll also see the swearing-in of future sailors on the ice during intermission, plus the first 1,000 fans through the doors get a free cow bell courtesy of Monster Energy Drink.
After traveling to take on the Tri-City Americans for a Saturday-night road game this weekend, the Silvertips are also on home ice Sunday afternoon for another U.S. Division tilt against the Portland Winterhawks at 4:05 pm. The first 750 fans through the main arena doors on Sunday will receive a Mirco Mueller bobblehead doll courtesy of Tulalip Resort Casino. Sunday’s game is also our second of two season ticket holder “Skate with the ‘Tips” nights, so full season ticket holders are invited to bring your skates (or rent them from the Comcast Community Ice Rink), tear the skating coupon out of your season ticket booklet and re-enter the arena through the community rink to skate with the ‘Tips!
The Silvertips are once again teaming up with the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank for a food drive during both of this weekend’s home games. Donation bins will be placed at all Comcast Arena entrances and around the concourse to collect non-perishable food items that stay right here in our community at the Everett Food Bank. Thanks in advance for your generosity!
